Do you know why you can’t see your abs even after months of training? Well, chances are you already have a well worked abdominal muscle group, only problem is they’re hiding right behind the layer of fat in your stomach! And unfortunately, there is no way around it because you can not turn fats into muscles! Therefore your attack plan should be to burn off those excess around your stomach before concentrating your effort on abs building.

How? A very brief and general way is to eat just slightly below your daily calorie requirements. It’s simple, if you don’t have enough energy in your body to perform daily tasks, your body will then turn those stored fats into energy to carry on with your life. However, do not ever get caught up in this “fat burning” process, because there are also other factors that simply can not be ignored and you might have adverse effects if you go severely under nourished everyday!

Here are some tips on how you can get a flatter stomach:

1. Find out your exact daily calorie requirements. One of the tools called metabolic rate calculator I used is available here. Just sign up to the newsletter and to recieve the metabolic rate calculator, I recommend you do it now because it is important and helpful for you to get a flatter stomach.

2. If you’ve done step one, you’ll get a nice excel sheets that will allow you to enter all your personal specification, and at the end of it you’ll get your daily caloric number. Within you’ll find just about how much calorie you should consume if you choose to either Maintain, Lose, or Gain weight.

3. This is of course to give you a rough guide on how much you should really be eating everyday. Once you know just exactly how much, you can now start planning your eating habits. Try to eat around 5-6 times a day, the reason for this is because this will ensure your body gets a steady flow of sugar level as well as enabling your metabolism to actually work harder and more effecient throughout the day! However, keep in mind that what i mean is 5-6 SMALL meals a day! To get an idea of that, if your daily calorie requirement is about 2000 a day, just divide it into 5 portion, that leaves you with 400 cal/per meal.

Lastly, keep in mind that unprocessed food are always better than processed, because that’s how it’s meant to be eaten in the first place! I’ll be posting more on what sort of food are good and what are not, in the mean time, practice eating small portion and you’ll soon be reaping the benefit of it!
